| Function | The gyroscope is used to continuously record the x,y co-ordinates of the vehicle. It is normally used in conjunction with a GPS receiver to estimate the GPS co-ordinates when there is a loss of satellite lock. The ROMDAS software contains the necessary algorithms to interpolate the GPS positions from the gyroscope. |
